Mind that NATO STANAG panels are always custom-built for its application. The above mentioned panels are with Alumina Ceramics (Al2O3). Also panels with even higher performance ceramics like SiC and B4C can be made to save more weight and to protect to even higher threats.
SiC saves approx 10% weight compared to Al203, B4C saves approx 15% weight compared to Al203

Testing | Including samples. Panels are always custom build concerning ceramic layout. Panels are tested at TNO PML, The Netherlands
The above mentioned panels are with Alumina Ceramics (Al2O3). Also panels with even higher performance ceramics like SiC and B4C can be made to save more weight and to protect to even higher threats. SiC is used normally in highly mobile applications but more expensive that Alumina. B4C (boron carbide) is normally used in aerospace applications combined with super fibers like S2, Aramid or DYNEEMA. B4C is highly expensive
SiC saves approx 10% weight compared to Al203, B4C saves approx 15% weight compared to Al203
